BIOGRAPHY

Dato’ Aidit Bin Ghazali was born on July 8, 1959, in Gombak Setia, Selangor, Malaysia. His academic journey took him from Malaysia to Scotland and the United States. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Stirling in Scotland and later pursued a Master of Arts in Economics at Vanderbilt University in the USA.

Dato’ Aidit has a rich and varied career in academia and beyond. He began his professional journey as a lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where he later became Deputy Dean, Faculty of Economics.  He spent almost a decade at IIUM from 1983 to 1992, after which he was part of the pioneering team to establish the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), where he continued to play a crucial role in promoting Islamic knowledge and values from 1992 to 1994.  Dato’ Aidit also lectured at the University of Brunei Darussalam, further broadening his impact on the academic world. 

Dato’ Aidit’s international recognition grew when he was appointed as a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University in the United States, a prestigious position that underscored his scholarly contributions in the field of Islamic economics.

In the corporate and organisational realm, Dato’ Aidit held significant leadership positions in various institutions in Malaysia.  He was the Chief Executive Officer of INMIND, a think tank organisation, and was later the Executive Chairman of Akademi Aidit, demonstrating his skills in organisational management and strategic decision-making.  He currently serves in various capacities in NGOs like the Yayasan Murni Aqidah, Fitrah Malaysia Foundation and the Malaysian Elderly Foundation, where he guides such organisations towards achieving their missions.  His dedication to Islamic scholarship and community service is further reflected in his long-standing role as a member of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council, where he has served for 15 years.  

Dato’ Aidit’s contributions to academic writing are especially remarkable, having authored 67 books and hundreds of papers and articles in various fields – Islamic finance and economics, human and leadership development, Islamic management – showcasing his depth and commitment to knowledge.  He has been recognised with several prestigious awards at the state and national levels, having received the Tokoh Maulidur Rasul Selangor (2016) and Tokoh Maulidur Rasul Malaysia (2017), acknowledging his significant contributions to the academia and the community.

His expertise spans various fields, including organisational management, leadership training and management, crisis resolution, stress management, science of self-healing, Prophetic healing, and so on. These skills highlight his comprehensive approach to personal and community development, making him a respected figure in both academic and community circles.
